Help4Addiction offers a program for home alcohol detoxing that lasts for 28 days. This has been a successful timeframe to successfully wean our patients off alcohol and avoid relapsing.
This timeframe may be shorter or longer for different individuals based on the level of their addiction and reception to treatment.
Our home alcohol detox plan starts from £2,795 per month and includes:
A home detox works out to be more affordable than checking into a rehab or inpatient treatment (up to 4 times cheaper) since this requires you to pay for accommodation, food and 24/7 professional care.
A home alcohol detox can provide more privacy and comfort than visiting and staying in a new and different rehab facility. By following a structured program, you have access to all the tools you need to reduce your alcohol dependence and overcome your addiction. Overseen by addiction professionals, home alcohol detoxes have been very successful in recent years and maintaining sobriety.
A private home alcohol detox can be more affordable and cost effective than staying in a clinic, since travel, accommodation and food are not needed and you can still be surrounded by loved ones.
However, being disciplined to follow the program and having the support of loved ones is key to achieving your goals. Being in the same environment that started your alcoholic dependence can be challenging and for this reason, some patients are more successful with inpatient addiction treatment. Whilst every patient is different, withdrawal symptoms from an alcohol detox is common and can cause:
When you drink, alcohol increases the effects of the neurotransmitter GABA – as well as decreases glutamate levels. This can make you feel calmer and more relaxed.
When you drink more often and for longer periods, your body gets used to these changes – meaning your body will produce less GABA and more glutamate to make up for these changes.
However, when your drinking habits change and you stop drinking, your body continues to produce more glutamate and less GABA, which can lead to you experiencing uncomfortable symptoms.
Yes, for individuals experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms, it is possible to be prescribed medication to help with the symptoms including:
The first step of the detox process is contacting us for help. This will involve completing an online questionnaire, which will give us the information we need to ensure you get the right help for you and your circumstances.
This will also give you an insight as to whether you are eligible for an at-home detox – whether you can safely detox from alcohol at home or whether you’ll be better off completing an inpatient detox/ medically-assisted detox.
You may not be eligible for a home detox if you:
If none of the following applies to you, there is a good chance you will be eligible. Again, you can answer our questionnaire to find out your eligibility.
Once you have contacted us and completed the questionnaire, you’ll need to provide us with your consent – which includes your signature.
We want to offer the best online private rehab and home detox, and upon receiving your electronic signature, we can begin to help you overcome your alcohol addiction.
The assessment process is completed online, meaning you don’t have to attend a rehab facility or medical facility to begin your home alcohol detox.
You will have your assessment online with one of our doctors on either Skype or Facetime. Then, the doctor will send the prescription to a pharmacy that will send it to you the following day. However, we can also arrange for you to pick up the prescription from your local pharmacy.
You’ll then take the detox medication as per the doctor’s instructions. The detox medication provided can help to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, and ultimately streamline the detox process.
